FARMING

HOW WE USED TO FARM

Farming is one of Framley's oldest and one that involves lots of boring processes, such as ploughing, sowing and digging.

The traditional horse and plough would have been seen throughout the area until the early 1960's, by which time the horse had been widely replaced by oafs.

WHAT IS AN AGRICULTURE?

Opinion is divided as to the true definition of a farm, but suffice to say we've got an exhibit covering it, anyway!

This cow skeleton shows the internal mechanism we believe allows the animal to turn cold green grass into warm white milk (a miracle otherwise reserved for Our Lord Jesus Christ).

NEW GARDENING EXHIBIT

The new gardening exhibit at Framley Museum was opened in mid 2002 by Big Tommy off of Ground Force.

The exhibit includes the chance to get down and dirty with local produce, international flowers and relics from gardening's 200 year history.

Features include:

  • 'Biggum' - Victorian Framley's largest flower press, containing an entire garden.
  • Trug amnesty collection point.
